Still On The Road

To pick up where I left off my last blog, we got into Texas and was going to stay in Waco for a few nights but got a call asking if we wanted to go down and shoot with Andrew Short. We took the invite and trucked it down to Smithville, TX where Short calls home. It was an awesome day of shooting and hanging out with the Short family (what great people)! Short’s ranch is amazing what a sight as you drive in, green grass, cows roaming the fields, and off in the distance a supercross track. That is not it though, rolling down pass the supercross track to his motocross track you see a river running along side the beautiful track lined with trees. It was an awesome day, which proved some amazing photos!

After Shorty’s house we began our journey back north to get out of the motor home for a night and get some real showers. So Wes has some friends in Waco that we shacked up with for the night. We woke up Friday morning and headed out to Freestone for media day. Friday went by and Saturday morning came around way to quick. It was race day and time to get out on the track and see what it was looking like. It was a hot one for sure, as the riders took the track for practice in the morning. The racing action in the 250 class was epic in both motos; Canard held the early lead in both motos but went down in the first and had to work his butt off to get back up on the podium. That ride was one of the strongest rides that I have ever witnesses in my life; he was so determined and hungry he laid down the hammer! In the second moto Trey and Dungey had an awesome battle for about 4 laps; Dungey ended up getting around Trey for the win but not without a fight. Canard is looking good, and should be on top of the box very, very soon!

His win is coming really soon!

After the race we put the finishing touches on the Racer X Post Show and motoed back to the hotel to put the finishing touches on the Post Show and post up some photos on www.vurbmoto.com . On Sunday we met up with some of our boys in Texas and took it easy for once. We had a good time at this restaurant on a lake; it was nice to chill with some friends that we had not seen since March. Being that we went out to have a little fun we had to make up for lost time and hit the road around 2am to get to Florida. We headed out on route to Kaelyn Sheedy’s house. We arrived at Kaelyn’s around noon on Tuesday and she wanted to go cliff jumping and so that is what we did. Though we all had a ton of work to get done we put it to the side and went out for a little fun! When we got back it was time to get to work! We put down the hammer for a few hours and got things done (around 1am).

The jump, with all of the $1,000's in camera equipment we have, we managed to leave it all behind and had to shoot these with our iphones.

On the way down

It was bound to be a long one on Wednesday for a photo shoot at James Stewart’s house, being that he won’t ride before noon. We rolled into the gates around 10:30 and hung out until it was time. We got all set up to do our shoot and got to work, things did not last long though as “we were not part of the Answer Racing shoot”. It is not that big of a deal to me as I am not impressed by Rock Stars nor do I care about James. Yes it would be cool to shoot James cuz he is a bad dude, but it is all good. So here I am sitting in the motor home in front of Stewart’s house writing this blog.

James was nothing like this guy! I will be a fan of Shorty for life!

We might have to stay here at the Stewarts compound for the night to do some interview stuff because he doesn’t think he will be able to do them tonight. So if we do not get out of here tonight we will be driving through the night tomorrow (Thursday) to get to High Point on Friday. It is about a 24 hour drive from here so we are going to have some major driving duties going on.

Just want to say thanks for reading this and staying on top of what is going on over here at 3n1 Photography. My next blog will be coming to you after High Point from the Pittsburgh Airport or on board my flight home. So check in next time and keep your eyes open for the blog “Rock Starts”.
