Most would be stoked to be at home on Friday, but me I have other things on my mind. Before I get into my “Friday Blues” let me get you caught up with what has been going on as of late.

My last blog was a while ago, I was flying home from High Point. I obviously got home since I am here writing this blog. Well I got home and wasted no time getting ready for Mammoth as I only had 5 days until I left again. Mammoth is the race I look forward to the most each and every year. What a race it is; the beauty all surrounding you. The race track placed on the bottom of a valley that runs up and down the valley, in and out of the trees, with the backdrop looking like a beautiful canvas. The racing action did not disappoint either; there was a lot of fast kids on hand to do battle. It was awesome to see Timmy Weigand once again battling with the kids of tomorrow. Not only was Timmy out mixing it up with the youngsters but he showed them how it is done. He finally got what he has been after for years, after all of these years playing the brides mate he did it; he got his hands on one of those big bears. It was awesome to be able to share this time with such a great person and a great friend. Big props go out to Timmy! Not only was the racing amazing but being in Mammoth with the PanicRev crew is always a blessing. It is awesome to take in all that God has blessed us with. God also did an awesome work through PanicRev all week long by, strengthened old friendships, starting new friendships, and showing up in a big way each and everyday. It was a great week and as soon as we departed from the track on the last day I was already looking forward to Mammoth 2010. I cant wait for next June to see Timmy whip-up on the next batch of young punks!

Beautiful Mammoth

Matt Bisceglia was on the gas in Mammoth!

It was good to see Mark back on the track.

Having a little fun.

Jessy Nelson is looking strong on the big bike.

Eli Tomac killed it all week long!

Nick Paluzzi showed what he was made of.

Lance Vincent

T-Bake

Timmy with his bear and son.

Tommy Weeck looked fresh in his new TLD gear.

This is what Mammoth has in store for you!

After Mammoth all of the moto stuff slowed way down but things have still been real busy. In talking with Mr. Weigand I was informed that he was going to be riding for the USA ISDE team (read more here http://www.panicrev.org/rev_v2/features/374-panicrev-hosts-milestone-ride-day-in-support-of-timmy-weigand-the-the-isde.html ). So I told Timmy that PanicRev would love to team up with him and try to raise some money to get him to Portugal. So I have been trying to get things together for the ride day and been putting a lot of time into this thing. It should be a fun time! Come out and join us out at Milestone on August 18th at 8am. Along with doing this Matt Frances and I headed out to Comp Edge to do some video and photos with Timmy and Nicky B. (check out the video http://www.panicrev.org/rev_v2/media/videos/385-weigand-and-brozovich.html ). Things have been busy but it has been fun hanging out with Timmy and getting things going for him. We are excited for the events coming up and for the ISDE.

Come and Join the fun.

X-Games rolled into town last week and I was blessed enough to go and take photos. I was really looking forward to the X-Games because I had never been before and it is an awesome event that I watch on TV each and every year. When the time came from me to head down to LA I was pumped. My Buddy (Darren) and I drove down early Thursday morning to get my Media Pass and to watch some practice. We had a good time but it just was not what I thought it was going to be. I thought things would be better on Friday being that Thursday was mostly practice; I was wrong though. Friday was pretty much the same, but Saturday, Saturday was Race day for the men and women supercross. I was excited to watch/take photos of these events. They both were fun/good races but it just had a different feel to it. The week was fun hanging out with friends and the race action was good but all in all it was a little disappointing with the best trick winner wining with the same trick he did last year, two gold medals given out for the step-up (one going to my boy that has a man crush on me (read my other blogs). I don’t know, it just did not fulfill what I had in my head.

<a href="http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e164/flmx/?action=view&current=_MG_0166.jpg" brings me to my “Friday Blues”, it is Friday and the third motos begin today at Loretta Lynn’s. It was 5 years ago that I went to Loretta’s for the first time and I have been there each year after until now. Here I am sitting at my desk with a cup of coffee in the comfort of my own house in CA. The where the weather is amazing and we don’t know what humidity is here and all I can think of is being at Loretta’s sweating my butt off. Some maybe thing “John, you so do not want to be here, it is 100 degrees with 95% humidity and showers all day long”. Truth be told that is right where I want to be; there is something special about the Dude and that’s where my heart is right now. I have become close to many that this is their last year doing battle at the Ranch. I have watched a lot of these kids from 65’s all the way to where they are now; ready to do battle next week at Unadilla. It is awesome knowing that I have been watching/be friending these kids for so long and now they are making there dreams come true; and I am not there to enjoy it with them. I wish I was right there with them on the line sweating my butt off with all of these guys. My best wishes are sent out to all of the boys and girls on the battle field know as Loretta Lynn’s! And for all of those heading up to New York for Unadilla I am proud of you all and wish I was there to see your “first big one”.

Keep your eyes open for more blogs each month, it is hard for me to get to these things but I enjoy them once I get started on them. Let me know if you guys like these or if I am wasting my time ☺

Thanks!

Here are some more photos enjoy

K-Dub throwing down

Some street skating

Sleeter

He landed this

J-Law looked good for a shot while

Sharie rode well with help from boy friend TP

JP$ fought hard but could not keep Ashley behind her

JG was throwing down some nasty whips, it is to bad that he got hurt. So my flight leaves at 4:15 and I arrived here at the airport at 11 am, are you saying the same thing that I am? What the……? Well being the nice guy that I am I wanted to save someone an hour and a half drive from the Racer X headquarters to the airport being that Travis and Rye Rye’s (Ryan) flights left around 2:15. So here I am sitting at a Charlie’s (a bar & grill) sipping on a cherry coke about to write my final blog from the first 4 outdoor nationals and a road trip that will never be forgotten.

Well we ended up having to go back to Stewarts house on Thursday to do those interviews with him. However thanks to Red Bull we got out of “mighty whitey” (our motor home) and shacked up in a Holiday Inn (thanks a lot Jeremy though you did know we did it). It was nice to get out of the rig and get some real showers and not be all cramped up and fighting over workspace. We were told to arrive back at Stewarts place around 9 to do the interview’s so that is what we did, guess what? Yup, he wasn’t ready for us and wasn’t ready for quite some time; try two and half hours later. So we waited around until 11:30 and finally got things wrapped up around 1pm. We got a really late start to our expedition on up to Morgantown, West Virginia. Wes hit the road first, while I stayed up late the night before so I could take a nap and take the graveyard shift. So that is what I did, we were on the gas; Wes and Bulmer did a good job getting us on the way. It was time to eat and Wes had a craving for Wendy’s so we looked up the closest one on the iphone and pulled off her exit. We saw the sign for the Wendy’s but it was 1.3 miles off the highway so Wes and I Vetoed it while Bulmer wanted to take the short little detour and Rye Rye really had to hit the head so he needed to stop ASAP. Wes and I won and we pushed on to the next Wendy’s which was just a hop and a skip away. By this point Rye Rye is feeling it, he has to go. We roll into the parking lot to see the dinning room empty and the chars put on the table. We are 10 mins late and Sheck (Ryan) is stuck needing to do the deed. He manned up and kept err in while I jumped into the drivers seat to take “Mighty Whitey” through the drive through. We got our food and I felt ready to go the last 350 miles that we had left. Things were going strong until about 3:30am where I began hitting the rumble strips; I hit a wall and could not go any further. So what do I do? Wake up the one that has driven a told of maybe 3 hrs this whole trip, that’s right the Sheckler. He says he can go though “he just fell asleep”, though he had been sleeping in the passenger seat for the past 2 hrs. So he takes the wheel with about 90 miles left to go and I hit the passenger seat so he could easily wake me up if he needed anything. The kid pinned it and got us there, he woke me up to give him the final directions but he was a stud and finished up the gnarly drive we had.

2010 Answer photoshoot

"Too cool" James Stewart

This was taken with my iPhone after I was told to put my camera away because you have "schedule" a shoot with James. This was an amazing sight of Stewarts supercross track with the sun setting.

Wendy's closed!

Whats for dinner?

So we “hit the hey” around 5am and get up around 9am to get to the track. Everyone was a little tired but was excited to see the track. It was my first time there along with Rye Rye, so it was nice to once again see a “real” motocross track. Fridays pretty much suck for me because there is not really much I can do being that the rider’s bikes aren’t really out and there are only a select few that get to ride media day. So I pretty much just hangout and talk with my buddies and help Wes and the crew out with anything they need. They were about to go do the “stand ups” for the Racer X Preshow so I thought I would tag along and watch them do there thing. Andy Boyer filled in for Jason Weigandt because Jason was nowhere to be found. They had the GOAT (Ricky Carmichael) as the guest host. Here we are filming on top of the Monster Hospitality tower with RC and Boyer. I am not sure what it was (the red beard, just me being me, not sure) but we all thought Ricky had/has a man crush on me. Every time he would make a joke he would look right at me and shake his head. It was awesome everyone saw it and everyone was asking each other what the deal was? The best we came up with was he liked the fact that I have reddish hair and a red beard. That was the highlight of Friday at the track; we packed things up and headed over to the Racer X office to shower up and put the finishing touches on the Preshow. After we did that we headed over to the Racer X party at Davey’s restaurant/bar. Here we had the privilege of meeting rally car driver Ken Block, and we had just watched his new video (check it out at www.dcshoes.com) just a few days prier. That was a true treat; he is an awesome dude and really down to earth. It was a good time though we were out a little later then I would have liked, we had fun.

RC with his man crush

Bulmer and Travis with Ken Block (talking about man crushes; Trav is all about Ken Block)!

Saturday morning rolled around quite fast! Wes rolled into the motor home around 6am to get to the track. Bulmer and I were still sleeping in the back room and Wes thought it would be fun to hit the rumble strip as much as possible. He wanted to show me what I hook them up with when I drive he said. But we got to the track all ready for some racing action; I was excited to take some photos at a new track that provides some beautiful backgrounds. The racing action in the 250 class was once again unreal, Christophe Pourcel once again took the win in the first moto (which made him 4 for 4 on moto 1 wins), Dungey hit the ground and had to fight his way forward and Canard battled his way into second. In the second moto Canard took the early lead and looked to be in control of the race; he did have pressure from Pourcel but it was Canards race. It looked like he was on his way to his first moto win along with his first overall, but things went south when he went off a jump and hit a kicker which threw him into a endow resulting in him hitting the ground hard. He was pretty banged up and ended up breaking his wrist, I send out my prayers and best wishes to Trey; he will be missed at the track until his return! With Canard going down CP 377, being “the crafty French Man” that he is he rode a “smooth” race to his first overall and his first win coming from the second moto. The 450 were quite exciting this weekend as well with Reed, Short, and IT9 all going at it for the lead. Reed ended up getting the best of the Honda boys, earning his first 1-1 in his 450-motocross career. In both classes there has been a points change and two new riders will be sporting the red number plate come Thunder Valley.

JG before he wadded

CP 377

Tommy Gun

High Point brings them all out!

Get well soon bud! It was all good we were all pumped on the day and had a good time and ended up making friends with the waitress. After dinner we headed back to “the home front” (Racer X) to get to work. I was pretty tired so I decided to ditch out on the work grab a shower and head to bed.

Sunday morning rolled around but we all got some sleep and slept in until around 9. It was nice to not have to get up and rush back onward to the next race/destination (with an off week next week). We all got up and got to work right away, we all agreed that we were pretty hungry but didn’t want to go anywhere (being that we don’t have a car and can only drive Mighty Whitey around). So what did we do? Did the American thing and ordered some pizza from Pizza Hut. I am not going to lie, there was a lot of playing around and having some fun (check out the videos that Travis and Wes made for Steve Cox and Brent Stallo http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=90311503247&ref=mf and http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=90310243247&comments&ref=mf ) while “working” but we all did manage to get things done.

We wrapped things up around 8:30pm and the guys wanted to go and grab some dinner; I decided to sit this one out and watch some Deadliest Catch and do some ichatting. I wanted to stay up late so I could get some shut-eye on the plane so I waited until about 3am to take my shower and did not hit the sack until about 4:30am. Well my plan has not worked yet being that I am on my first flight from Pittsburg to Atlanta putting the finishing touches on this blog and not sleeping. This is a short flight so I hope by the time I get on the plane in Atlanta I am ready to crash out.

While wasting time I was looking around the Racer X off and went into there "photo room" where they have millions of photos archived and I went through some of them. It was awesome to see some of these amazing shots!

The Racer X office is filled with some awesome memorabilia stuff. I was so blessed by just being there. What an awesome place to work!

I am really looking forward to getting back home, however I will miss the guys and the times in Mighty Whitey. I have a lot to look forward to back at the home front and I can not wait to get there; but I look forward to the next journey in Mighty Whitey, just about a month away. I will be heading north to Mammoth next week, I look forward to this race all year long so I am stoked to be going. While Rye Rye and I are up shredding the mountain the rest of the crew will be out in Colorado at Thunder Valley. I will be rejoining the crew come Ponca, and I look forward to the adventures that lay ahead in Mighty Whitey!

Still On The Road

To pick up where I left off my last blog, we got into Texas and was going to stay in Waco for a few nights but got a call asking if we wanted to go down and shoot with Andrew Short. We took the invite and trucked it down to Smithville, TX where Short calls home. It was an awesome day of shooting and hanging out with the Short family (what great people)! Short’s ranch is amazing what a sight as you drive in, green grass, cows roaming the fields, and off in the distance a supercross track. That is not it though, rolling down pass the supercross track to his motocross track you see a river running along side the beautiful track lined with trees. It was an awesome day, which proved some amazing photos!

One of Shorts fields

This is a shot from the middle of Shorts outdoor track

Short ripping

In the background you can see the river lining Shortys track.

Ripping off laps

Us chilling out with Shorty and the crew

After Shorty’s house we began our journey back north to get out of the motor home for a night and get some real showers. So Wes has some friends in Waco that we shacked up with for the night. We woke up Friday morning and headed out to Freestone for media day. Friday went by and Saturday morning came around way to quick. It was race day and time to get out on the track and see what it was looking like. It was a hot one for sure, as the riders took the track for practice in the morning. The racing action in the 250 class was epic in both motos; Canard held the early lead in both motos but went down in the first and had to work his butt off to get back up on the podium. That ride was one of the strongest rides that I have ever witnesses in my life; he was so determined and hungry he laid down the hammer! In the second moto Trey and Dungey had an awesome battle for about 4 laps; Dungey ended up getting around Trey for the win but not without a fight. Canard is looking good, and should be on top of the box very, very soon!

Ash taking the win

Mike on his way to dominating the weekend.

The start of the first moto of the 250 class

Kyles first go of it with the big boys.

His win is coming really soon!

After the race we put the finishing touches on the Racer X Post Show and motoed back to the hotel to put the finishing touches on the Post Show and post up some photos on www.vurbmoto.com . On Sunday we met up with some of our boys in Texas and took it easy for once. We had a good time at this restaurant on a lake; it was nice to chill with some friends that we had not seen since March. Being that we went out to have a little fun we had to make up for lost time and hit the road around 2am to get to Florida. We headed out on route to Kaelyn Sheedy’s house. We arrived at Kaelyn’s around noon on Tuesday and she wanted to go cliff jumping and so that is what we did. Though we all had a ton of work to get done we put it to the side and went out for a little fun! When we got back it was time to get to work! We put down the hammer for a few hours and got things done (around 1am).

The jump, with all of the $1,000's in camera equipment we have, we managed to leave it all behind and had to shoot these with our iphones.

On the way down

It was bound to be a long one on Wednesday for a photo shoot at James Stewart’s house, being that he won’t ride before noon. We rolled into the gates around 10:30 and hung out until it was time. We got all set up to do our shoot and got to work, things did not last long though as “we were not part of the Answer Racing shoot”. It is not that big of a deal to me as I am not impressed by Rock Stars nor do I care about James. Yes it would be cool to shoot James cuz he is a bad dude, but it is all good. So here I am sitting in the motor home in front of Stewart’s house writing this blog.

James was nothing like this guy! I will be a fan of Shorty for life!

We might have to stay here at the Stewarts compound for the night to do some interview stuff because he doesn’t think he will be able to do them tonight. So if we do not get out of here tonight we will be driving through the night tomorrow (Thursday) to get to High Point on Friday. It is about a 24 hour drive from here so we are going to have some major driving duties going on.

Just want to say thanks for reading this and staying on top of what is going on over here at 3n1 Photography. My next blog will be coming to you after High Point from the Pittsburgh Airport or on board my flight home. So check in next time and keep your eyes open for the blog “Rock Starts”.

On The Road Again!

Well, it’s that time of the year again; time to heat up and get dirty at the nationals. We are already two rounds into the national circuit. The racing has been awesome in the 250 class with two different winners in as many rounds. The class is so stocked any 10 riders could win on any given weekend! Here are a few photos from Glen Helen and Hangtown.

Well, I am on a month long journey from Northern California (Hangtown) to High Point which is in Pennsylvania. I have jumped in with the Vurb crew to help with the first 4 rounds of the outdoor national series. We have a long road in front of us, but we already have a number of good memories. After taking off from Hangtown Travis Stewart made a call to his aunt and uncle who lives close to Sacramento and we stopped in and was treated to some awesome meatball sandwiches. It was a good time to hang out with Travis’s family, great people and a lot of fun to hangout with! From there it was on to beautiful Yosemite National Park, I was the only one that had ever been to Yosemite before so everyone was really excited. I was a little bummed out due to the fact that we did not go through the valley and just went along the edge; never the less the scenery was beautiful!

We do not have that much time as we are on a time schedule, we have to be in Texas for a shoot with Andrew Short on Thursday so we have not been able to do a whole lot of “site seeing”. We did however drive through death valley where it did get up to 104 degrees at once point. It was a beautiful sight. From Death Valley we mobbed into Arizona, our stop in the AZ was at the Grand Canyon. The plan was for Wes Williams, David (England) Bulmer, and myself to walk from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to the South Rim. When 9 o-clock PM rolled around on Monday I still had work that needed to be done, so I chose to do the responsible thing and sit out the 25-mile hike from rim to rim. Wes and Bulmer started there trek around 6:30 am on Tuesday, while Ryan Walters, Travis, and myself began our own tour to the South Rim to pick up the boys. The drive to the South Rim was beautiful and when we got there it was an amazing sight.

The three of us wanted to go out and check out the Grand Canyon so we began to hike down the trail that Wes and Bulmer would be hiking up. It was amazing and we were having a good time until Ryan and I decided to do a “no-no” and go out on a restricted “cliff” and got caught by a ranger who was not in the best of mood. He called us down and lectured us on how we could fall and die. Then he went on to ask us our names to write us a citation for trespassing. We were able to doge the citation but was he ever mad! The guys got back from their 25-mile hike and they were exhausted but did they feel accomplished! It was an awesome thing for the both of them and they each said, “That might have been the hardest thing I have ever done, but I am so glad I did it”.

Ryan trying a new career…..Being a male model

Walters Photoshoot on the to seeing the Grand Canyon

Travis, Walters and I chilling out enjoying the view.

The view

I have to tell you the truth Travis really makes this photo! HAHA

This is why Walters and I got in trouble, we went out on the ledge.

See the Ranger on the left ya that’s my buddy that didn’t like what I did much and asked me to take a seat so that is where I was walking.

I couldn’t hold it in any longer, this is me busting up about the ranger being so mad at us.

So on the road once again, on-word to Texas. Walters and I hammered out some miles last night with Walters getting things started around 9:30 pm and got things done around 2am (with a 2 hr time difference). While big Walters was behind the wheel I was finishing up some final touches on the last bit of my work, when I was all done I took over behind the wheel and began mobbing. I took over around 2am and took control until about 5am, it was only 3 hrs but some of the hardest driving I have ever done since I had been up since 7am on Tuesday.
